BIRGIT – In an endless Garden of Flowers, I will Always pick You...
The organic shapes of Birgit evokes childhood memories of summers past when Johanna Hampf, (founder of PotteryJo), picked wild flowers in the beautiful meadows of Övermorjärv, Norrland together with her beloved aunt Birgit.
“Picking flowers was my favorite activity as a child (it still is!) – freshly-cut-bouquets spark joy.” – Johanna Hampf, founder.
Birgit is a continuation of PotteryJos ongoing-fascination for anthroposophy – the shape, colors, repetition and the order in nature’s design. Bringing the element of nature to tableware with Daisy, Daria and now Birgit. This time – launching our first vase!
But the Birgit vase isn’t just a container for flowers. What sets this vase apart is how it’s designed to be a candleholder as well, adding the double function of innovative design to the object.
As always, the design of PotteryJo centers around needs, beauty and the function of things. For example, when designing Birgit, our nature loving, gardening-enthusiast and founder Johanna Hampf lacked a dimension and shape of a vase that could be used as something else, Birgit does just that, with an insert for a candle. As with all of our tableware we like to be playful and encourage your unique expression, adding the Birgit collection we invite you to daydream, linger and tablescape.
Birgit is handmade, hand-glazed by skilled artisans in Portugal. Just like PotteryJo, they consider high-quality tableware as a natural and sustainable way to encourage values of slowing down to appreciate the simpler things in life – like freshly cut flowers elevated by a beautiful vase.
The Birgit collection arrives at the perfect time for those looking to add fresh, decorative touches around the home as we enter a new spring season - but will endure for seasons-to-come.
